Scope & Content Leon H. Riddle diary, typed and bound in black binder 12/17/1918-8/28/1920, not the original handwritten diary. This is one several diaries or copies of diaries of his in this accession.

Leon H. Riddle (8/16/1864-1936), and sons Karl and Kenyon who grew up in Herington, Kansas, kept diaries describing weather, daily events, family, business, political and social activity; local, national and international events.

His work included real estate, insurance, loans and collections. He was involved in the affairs of Henrington, KS. In addition to the town and business affairs, weather, social activities and politics, this volume includes the peace settlement and the flu epidemic and the invitation for Kenyon to take the job (in West Palm Beach, FL for which he recommended brother Karl.) and Karl's leaving for Palm Beach.
